About Tuanshan Village
A village of courtyard mansions about 13 km west of Jianshui, settled by the Zhang clan from Jiangxi in the early Ming and rebuilt on a grand scale in the late Qing with fortunes made in the Gejiu tin mines. Twenty-one historic gates, temples and ancestral halls and 38 old houses survive, laid out around the Zhang ancestral hall. The listed buildings include the Zhang Family Garden, several mansions, the Dacheng Temple and three of the old village gates.
