About Wuyue Temple, Jiexiu
A temple in the south-east of Jiexiu's old town, founded in 1456, destroyed in 1750 and rebuilt in 1763, on a site of about 4,100 square metres. Its gate, opera stage and bell and drum towers are joined into one tall structure known as the Haishen Tower, with a five-bay stage raised on a high platform and richly decorated bracket sets under the eaves. The main hall, front hall, side halls and rear hall stand behind it.
