About Hutian Kiln Site and Folk Kiln Museum

Hutian was a large folk (non-imperial) kiln complex that fired from the Five Dynasties period into the Ming, best known for the pale blue-white qingbai porcelain of the Song dynasty. The Jingdezhen Folk Kiln Museum shows pieces found here, and the excavated site across the road keeps kiln foundations, workshop pits, a Yuan-dynasty brick road and a Ming gourd-shaped kiln, with a Song-Yuan dragon kiln and a Ming kiln under cover on the hillside behind. It is one of the five parts of the Jingdezhen Handicraft Porcelain Industry Sites, inscribed on the World Heritage List in July 2026.
