Jingdezhen 景德镇Jǐngdézhèn
Hand-thrown porcelain, wood-fired kilns and a World Heritage listing from 2026

About Jingdezhen
Jingdezhen has made porcelain for more than a thousand years and was named in 1004 after the Jingde reign period; the Ming and Qing courts ran imperial kilns here for over five centuries. The word kaolin comes from Gaoling, a village in Fuliang county whose mine site is on the map, and the Ancient Kiln Folk Customs Museum shows traditional kilns. In July 2026 the Jingdezhen Handicraft Porcelain Industry Sites joined the UNESCO World Heritage list, and young potters gather at Taoxichuan Creative Quarter.
