About Dasheng Pagoda
A six-sided brick pagoda 42.38 m high, standing in the grounds of Nengren Temple in central Jiujiang and so also called the Nengren Temple Pagoda. It has a hollow core, and above the second storey the stairs cut diagonally through the walls from one balcony level to the next, a layout that dates it no earlier than the Song dynasty; the Ming gazetteer records large repairs under the Hongwu and Yongle emperors. It was listed as a provincial site in 1957 and as a national one in 2013.
