About Dragon Pavilion

A Qing palace-style hall raised on a brick platform of 72 steps on the site of the Northern Song imperial palace in the north of Kaifeng's old city. The platform began as an artificial hill in the garden of the Ming princes of Zhou, and the hall, built in the 18th century and rebuilt to the old design in 1856, faces an avenue between Panjia and Yangjia lakes, in a park whose gates have been rebuilt since 1985. The park also marks the sites of the Song palace walls and of its Daqing Hall.
