About Fulintang Pharmacy

A traditional Chinese medicine shop at 31 Guanghua Street, founded in 1857 and regarded as the oldest surviving pharmacy in Yunnan. The protected building is a three-storey timber and earth corner house at the junction with Wenming Street, with finely carved eaves, and the shop's name comes from a phrase wishing good fortune on the 'apricot grove', a classical term for the medical profession.
