About Lanzhou Prefecture City God Temple
Lanzhou's City God temple, dedicated like Tianshui's to the Han general Ji Xin, dates back at least to the Song and took its present layout after a rebuilding in 1837. Along its axis stand a memorial archway moved here in 1956 from a Ming princely garden, an opera stage rebuilt in 2003, an offering hall with gilded Qing boards and a double-eaved main hall; the compound is used as the city's No. 1 Workers' Club.
How to get to Lanzhou Prefecture City God Temple
On Zhangye Road pedestrian street in central Lanzhou (Chengguan District). The compound has long served as a workers' club, so check that it is open to visitors before going.
