About Black Dragon Pool
Black Dragon Pool lies in Jade Spring Park at the foot of Elephant Hill, just north of Lijiang Old Town, and its springs feed the streams that run through the old town. The park was laid out in 1737 and is known for the view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain across the pool and its white marble bridge. Its Ming and Qing pavilions and halls, including the Moon-Embracing Pavilion (rebuilt in 1963 after a fire), are protected as a national monument.
