About Fairy Lake Botanical Garden
A large botanical garden at the foot of Wutong Mountain beside Shenzhen Reservoir, founded in 1983, open since 1988 and now linked with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Lakes and pavilions frame themed collections including a national cycad conservation centre, desert-plant and shade-plant areas and a fossil forest, and the grounds also hold Hongfa Temple, which draws huge crowds at Chinese New Year.
