About S. Francisco Garden
S. Francisco Garden is a small park beside Praia Grande, divided into two parts by Rua de Santa Clara. The lower part is level, with flowerbeds and footpaths through greenery, while the hillier upper part, built along the slope, has paths up to a children's playground. Low walls, columns, an arched entrance and a fountain give the park a European look, and a small round building near the top, once a museum honouring First World War soldiers, now houses a disability association.
How to get to S. Francisco Garden
On Avenida da Praia Grande, about 0.5 km east of Senado Square, with a bus stop beside the garden.
