About Pavilion of Prince Teng
The Pavilion of Prince Teng is a nine-storey, 57.5 m tower on the east bank of the Gan River, counted with Yueyang Tower and the Yellow Crane Tower as one of the three great towers of south China. The first pavilion was built in 653 and became famous through Wang Bo's preface of 675; it was destroyed and rebuilt many times, and the present Song-style concrete building, based on Liang Sicheng's sketches, was completed in 1989. Inside are murals of historical figures from Jiangxi and a bronze scale model of the pavilion, and the grounds were extended northwards in 2024.
