About Monument to the National Unity Oath
A stone stele erected at the start of 1951 after a traditional Wa oath-taking ceremony held to promote unity among the area's ethnic groups under the new government. Abandoned for a time and later recovered, it has stood since 2000 in the National Unity Garden on the north side of Ning'er county town, where a small exhibition hall explains its history. It is presented in China as the first monument to ethnic unity of the People's Republic.
