Pu'er 普洱Pǔ’ěr
Ancient tea forests in hill country bordering Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar

About Pu'er
Pu'er tea takes its name from here: under the Ming and Qing, the town of Pu'er, now Ning'er, was the market where tea from the hills of south-west Yunnan was gathered and sent north by caravan. The city, called Simao until 2007, governs mountainous country where Hani, Yi, Lahu, Dai and Wa people make up most of the population, and pu'er is now also grown widely in Xishuangbanna and Lincang. Its finest sight is the Old Tea Forests of Jingmai Mountain.
