About Mausoleum of Shaohao

The tomb of Shaohao, one of the legendary Five Emperors, in Jiuxian village east of Qufu, a large earthen mound inside an enclosure of old trees with a sacrificial hall built in 1738. In front of the tomb stands Shou Qiu, a stepped stone pyramid about 8.7 m high, faced in stone in the early 12th century to mark the legendary birthplace of the Yellow Emperor, with a small pavilion on top. To the south stand the two huge Song steles of the vanished Jingling Palace, one of them left blank and known as the Sorrow of Ten Thousand stele.
