About Xiude Temple Pagoda
A tall octagonal brick pagoda about 32 metres high on the south-west side of Quyang town, the only part of Xiude Temple still standing. The present tower dates from 1019, although an inscription in its underground chamber traces a relic pagoda on the spot back to 601. Its second storey is covered in small niches, a style known as a 'flower pagoda', and some of the Buddhist statues found at the temple site are shown at the Beiyue Temple exhibition hall nearby.
How to get to Xiude Temple Pagoda
About 500 m south of Beiyue Temple on the south-west side of Quyang town, a short walk or taxi ride, so the two are easily combined.
