About Cheng'en Temple

Built in 1510–1513 for the Ming eunuch Wen Xiang on Moshikou's old caravan road, Cheng'en Temple keeps Ming halls, bell and drum towers flanking the Hall of Heavenly Kings with its murals, and four stone watchtowers at the corners of the compound. Used as a school from the 1950s and later restored, it now houses the Yanjing Bajue Museum of traditional Beijing crafts, and its old ginkgo draws visitors in autumn.
