About Badaguan

A district of villas and tree-lined streets between Huiquan Bay and Taiping Bay, laid out mostly in the 1930s, with some 200 buildings in the styles of more than twenty countries. Its streets are named after ancient mountain passes and are each planted with a different tree, so the area is known for blossom in spring and colour in autumn. The national heritage listing covers 236 individual buildings, including Huashi Lou, a stone mansion on the shore.
