About Zhan Bao Jinshi Archway

A bluestone memorial archway on Xiama Street in eastern Songyang town, raised for Zhan Bao, who passed the highest imperial examination in 1496, and inscribed "brothers both jinshi" on one face and "father and son both successful" on the other. The 8.5 m-high gateway of three bays and five roofs imitates timber construction, with bracket sets and reliefs of lions with a ball, cranes, qilin, figures and flowers.
