About Jiachen Lane Brick Pagoda

A miniature five-storey, eight-sided brick pagoda that imitates a timber pagoda in the details of its eaves, brackets, doors and windows. Long thought to be Song, since it appears on the city map of 1229, it has bricks that tests date to the late Tang or Five Dynasties; it is the last of the small brick pagodas once recorded in the old city. Hemmed in by houses until 1993, it now stands in a small courtyard of its own.
