About Ürümqi Confucius Temple

The Ürümqi Confucius Temple, on Qianjin Road in central Ürümqi, is described as Xinjiang's only surviving Confucian temple and its only intact temple complex in late-Qing style. The present buildings were put up in 1922 as a temple mainly to Shangdi, with Confucius honoured alongside, and the main hall was rebuilt as a Dacheng Hall for Confucius in 1945; the Ürümqi Museum now looks after it.
