About Xinhe Lock Bridges

Four old stone sluice-bridges on the canals around Xinhe town in eastern Wenling, the Zhongzha, Maci, Beizha and Xialu sluices, which served both as river crossings and as water gates. Each has two or three spans of stone beams resting on corbelled piers with cutwaters, and the plain Maci sluice is thought to survive from the Song or Yuan, the others from the Ming and Qing.
