About Tianchi Mountain & Huashan (Jijian Temple)

Two wooded hills west of Suzhou, Tianchi Mountain and Huashan, which with the neighbouring Baixiangwan valley form one scenic area inside the Dongwu National Forest Park. On Tianchi Mountain stands Jijian Temple, founded in 1357, whose Yuan-dynasty stone hall and two flanking stone shrines are carved to imitate timber buildings and set against the cliff, with Yuan Buddha figures in their niches. The area suits a half-day hill walk combined with the temple.
