About Fuxi Terrace
A three-tiered, irregularly octagonal rammed-earth terrace about 9 m high on the plain at Xinle, traditionally linked with the mythical ancestor Fuxi, with remains from the Neolithic to the Han dynasty in the ground around it. A temple complex along its north–south axis (gate, Liuzuo Hall, Longshi Hall and the rear sleeping hall) is known locally as the Ancestor Temple, and the annual Fuxi sacrifice held here on the 17th to 19th of the third lunar month is on China's national intangible-heritage list. The surrounding area has been developed with a cultural market and leisure spaces.
