About Baoyan Temple Pagoda

A Northern Song brick pagoda of seven storeys on a hexagonal plan, 28.8 m tall, in Xiping county town and the only remnant of Baoyan Temple. Its brickwork imitates a timber tower, with a niche of carved flying figures on the first storey and a stair that climbs to the sixth floor. Damaged by Japanese shelling during the war, it stands in a small park laid out in 2017 beside a memorial tower to soldiers killed in the War of Resistance against Japan.
