About Shengguo Temple Pagoda
A nine-storey octagonal brick pagoda about 27 m tall in Xiuwu county town, first built in the Tang and rebuilt in 1097 under the Northern Song. Unusually for the region, its stairway runs partly inside the pagoda and partly along the outer wall between storeys, and its iron finial carries a 1617 inscription; the temple halls beside it were rebuilt in the 1990s.
