About Mount Langya
A scenic mountain area in the Taihang range in the west of Yi County, known for the story of the 'Five Heroes of Mount Langya'. In the official account, five Eighth Route Army soldiers covering a withdrawal in September 1941 retreated to the summit ridge, Qipantuo, and went over a cliff rather than be captured. An exhibition hall about them stands near the entrance, and a memorial tower on Qipantuo marks the place.
How to get to Mount Langya
In Langyashan town, about 36 km south-west of Yi County town; Baoding is the nearest large city, and a taxi or private car is the practical way.
