About Huaibang Guild Hall

A guild hall built in 1872 by medicine merchants from Huaiqing prefecture, who traded their 'four Huai herbs' through Yuzhou, one of China's historic medicine markets. Behind a long brick screen wall, its gate-cum-opera stage, side galleries and linked worship and main halls are roofed in peacock-blue glazed tiles and richly carved; the main hall honours Guan Yu flanked by the physicians Zhang Zhongjing and Sun Simiao. It now houses the Yuzhou Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture.
