About Faxing Temple, Zhangzi

Faxing Temple rises in steps up the slope of Cuiyun Mountain, from the gate through a Tang stone pagoda to the Song-dynasty Yuanjue Hall. The temple was moved here between 1984 and 1996 from its original site on Cilin Mountain, where coal mining had caused the ground to subside. It is known for three treasures: the sandstone pagoda of the Tang, built on a double-walled square plan, a Tang stone lamp stand dated 773, and the Song painted sculptures inside Yuanjue Hall.
