About Sun Yat-sen's Hometown, Cuiheng
The village of Cuiheng, where Sun Yat-sen was born and grew up, centred on the two-storey house that his elder brother Sun Mei paid for and Sun himself oversaw building in 1892, with a Western-style front and a traditional Chinese interior. Beside it the memorial museum, rebuilt in 1999, covers his life and family, and restored village houses and fields show the world of his childhood. The 5A area also takes in the rest of Cuiheng village, the Zhongshan Film and TV City, a Xinhai Revolution memorial park and Litoujian hill with the Sun family graves.
