About Lingong Zhongping Wang Ancestral Temple

The ancestral temple of Lin Gong (Lin Zugen), a Song-dynasty healer from Fu'an who was deified after ridding the district of wild animals and epidemics, in Shanyang village, Makeng township. Built from 1513, it keeps a Ming gate tower, bell and drum towers and a hip-and-gable main hall with carved altar tables, plus a Qing pavilion of 1805 above the gate; the side halls were rebuilt in 2007. Lin Gong worship has spread from here across eastern Fujian and to Taiwan and Singapore.
