About Qu Yuan's Hometown, Zigui

Qu Yuan's Hometown is a tourist area on Phoenix Hill beside the Yangtze at Maoping, built around the Fenghuangshan Ancient Buildings, a national heritage group of Qing-dynasty buildings moved here because their original sites in Zigui were to be flooded by the Gezhouba and Three Gorges reservoirs. The 24 buildings, four bridges, two city gates, an archway and a well include ancestral halls, river-god temples, a multi-storey pavilion and the Qu Yuan Temple, which honours the poet Qu Yuan, a native of Zigui. The hill lies less than 2 km from the Three Gorges Dam in a straight line and gives views of it; the area is the second part of the joint 5A Three Gorges Dam and Qu Yuan's Hometown tourist area.
