About Fangchenggang

Fangchenggang holds the western end of China's mainland coast, a young port city whose beaches, among them Bailang Beach and Golden Beach, face the Beibu Gulf. The Jing Islands are home to most of China's Gin (Jing) people, descendants of settlers who came from around Hai Phong in Vietnam about 500 years ago and who keep their Ha song festival and single-string zither. Dongxing, on the Beilun River, has a crossing to Mong Cai in Vietnam, and inland rise the forests of the Shiwandashan.
