About Lingshui

Lingshui, a Li autonomous county governed directly by the province, stretches along Hainan's south-east coast between Wanning and Sanya. Nanwan Monkey Island, a macaque reserve founded in 1965, is reached by cable car from the fishing harbour of Xincun, and Boundary Island (Fenjiezhou), a 5A island for diving, is named for the climatic divide between north and south Hainan. The coast also has the resort district of Qingshui Bay and a museum of the Danjia, Hainan's boat-dwelling fishing families.
