Red sandstone peaks, ancient cliff coffins and the home of the Celestial Masters

About Yingtan
Yingtan is a copper-smelting and railway city, but travellers come for Mount Longhu, where red Danxia cliffs rise from a winding river and bamboo rafts drift beneath caves in which the ancient Yue people placed coffins more than 2,000 years ago. The mountain is part of the China Danxia World Heritage Site (2010) and the traditional home of the Celestial Masters of Zhengyi Taoism, whose Tianshi Mansion and Shangqing Palace stand in Shangqing town.
