About Guang'an

Guang'an is a hilly region of eastern Sichuan close to Chongqing, and it is best known as the birthplace of Deng Xiaoping, whose childhood home stands in a memorial park north of the city. The long ridge of Huaying Mountain runs across the prefecture, with forest walks and the Buddhist peak of Baoding, while in rural Wusheng the walled Baozhen Fortress, built by the Duan clan from 1910, is lined with gun ports. Yuechi County is known for its rice noodles.
