Suining 遂宁Suìníng
Guanyin's legendary home, and an underground salt lake to float in

About Suining
Suining lies on the Fu River in the low hills of central Sichuan, and local legend makes it the home of Guanyin, the bodhisattva of compassion, honoured at Guangde Temple and Lingquan Temple. In Daying County, the China Dead Sea Resort fills its pools from an ancient underground salt lake, salty enough to float in, and the Zhuotong Salt Wells recall a small-bore drilling method developed there under the Northern Song. Shehong, home of the Tang poet Chen Zi'ang, distils Shede baijiu.
