About Former French Mission Building
Built in 1917 by the French Society of Foreign Missions as its base in Hong Kong, this three-storey granite and red-brick building is Neo-classical, with a chapel in one corner whose cupola rises above the roof. It stands on Government Hill and served as the temporary headquarters of the provisional Hong Kong government immediately after the Second World War. The Court of Final Appeal sat here from 1997 to 2015, and the building is now used by law-related organisations.
