About Central Market
Central Market is a Bauhaus-style market building from 1939, one of Hong Kong's first wet markets, restored between 2017 and 2021 as a Grade III historic building with shops, restaurants and community spaces. More than 500 red lampshades, a classic symbol of local wet markets, hang from the ceiling at the ground-floor entrance. Original red-brick walls and a hanging clock survive at the grand staircase.
