About Former Residence of Huang Xing
Huang Xing (1874–1916), the revolutionary leader often named with Sun Yat-sen as a founder of the Republic of China, was born in this Qing farmhouse of the 1860s at Liangtang in Huangxing town, south-east of Changsha, and lived here until 1896. Twelve of its original 32 rooms survive, furnished as family rooms and with an exhibition on his life, and a memorial hall to Hunan's figures of the 1911 Revolution opened in the back garden in 2015. His tomb, also part of this national listing, is on Yuelu Mountain.
