About Zhizhu Temple
A Tibetan Buddhist temple of the Qianlong era, Zhizhu Temple stands beside the larger Songzhu Temple in the lanes east of Jingshan Park. Its halls served as factory workshops and storerooms from the 1950s and were restored with private investment in 2007–12, keeping their weathered paintwork and timbers. The temple no longer has a religious use: the courtyards now hold an art space, a restaurant and a café.
