About Lingyan Temple and Thousand Buddha Pagoda

A temple on the southern slope of Lingyan Mountain just north of Dujiangyan city, rebuilt in the Ming and Qing; only its Qing main hall and bell tower survive. Beside it stands the Thousand Buddha Pagoda, a 3-metre solid stone stupa from the Tang Kaiyuan era (713–741) whose thirteen tiers are covered with seated Buddhas. It pairs well with a visit to the Dujiangyan irrigation works.
