About Ganzhou City Wall

The best-preserved stretches of Ganzhou's Song-dynasty city wall run beside the Zhang and Gong rivers on the old city's two river sides, about 3.7 km in all, with brick and stone facing over a rammed-earth core roughly 7 m high. Gates such as Yongjin and Jianchun, bastions and crossbow platforms survive along the walk, and many wall bricks are stamped with reign dates from the Song to the Qing. State media describe it as the largest and best-preserved Song-dynasty city wall in China.
