About Kaishan Temple
A small Buddhist temple in Xincheng town whose timber main hall was built under the Liao dynasty in the mid-11th century. The five-bay hall has a hipped roof, deep eaves and large brackets, and only four columns stand inside because of its column-reducing frame, while the halls in front are Ming and Qing. Floodwater reached the compound in August 2023.
