The building on Zhongshan North Road that housed the Eighth Route Army's liaison office in Guilin from November 1938 until 1941, during the wartime cooperation between the Communists and the Kuomintang against Japan. The two-storey brick-and-timber shop house was destroyed when Guilin fell in 1944 and rebuilt to its original design in 1967.
