About Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's Mansion

These two three-storey buildings with arched verandas were built in 1907–09 as the offices of the Guangdong cement works, and Sun Yat-sen twice made them his seat of government, for the military government of 1917–18 and for the Generalissimo's headquarters set up in 1923. Restored after residents were moved out from 1998, they opened as a memorial museum in 2006, with Sun's office, bedroom and staff rooms recreated in the south block and exhibitions on his three governments in Guangzhou in the north block. The granite gateway of the cement works, dated 1907, still stands.

How to get to Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's Mansion

On the south bank of the Pearl River in Haizhu District, opposite the old city centre, reached by bus (Dayuanshuaifu stop) or taxi. Closed on Mondays except public holidays.
