About Fengxian Taoist Temple

A Taoist temple in central Jiyuan founded in 685, whose Sanqing Hall, rebuilt in 1184 under the Jin dynasty, is one of the three oldest wooden buildings in Henan. The hall is a classic example of 'reduced-column' framing, with only two of its eight interior columns kept, and its huge beams of thorn-wood root gave the temple its popular name, Jingliang Guan; a Tang stele with an image of Laozi stands in front.
