About Henan Prefecture Confucian Temple

The Confucian temple and prefectural school of old Henan Prefecture, in the south-east of Luoyang's Old Town, probably founded in the Jin or Yuan period and enlarged in the 1650s. The Ming-dynasty Halberd Gate and the five-bay Dacheng Hall with its glazed hip-and-gable roof survive, with the Minglun Hall behind; a primary school that occupied the buildings was moved out after 2006 and the temple restored.
