About Macau Cathedral
The cathedral of the Macau diocese, first built around 1622 of earth and straw, rebuilt in 1844–1850 and given its present form in 1937. Its façade has pilasters and twin belfries and a plain Shanghai-plaster finish. A Latin inscription above the door dedicates it to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, and the square in front is Largo da Sé.
