About Li Chun Ancestral Hall (Zhuangwangfu)
Completed in 1923 for the family of the warlord Li Chun, this hall complex was assembled from timbers, tiles and stone carried from the Qing-dynasty Prince Zhuang's mansion in Beijing, and is described by the Tianjin government as the largest surviving group of historic buildings in the city's urban area. Courtyards of halls with glazed-tile roofs and colonnades lie behind a stone archway and bridge. After decades as the Nankai People's Cultural Palace it was restored, and it reopened on a trial basis in 2026 as the Zhuangwangfu cultural venue, with courtyard performances, craft displays and long-established Tianjin food brands.
